Not everything is “Made in China”

Etc. Etc. Etc. Ad Nauseam.

At ang nakaka-inis pa lalo, sila pa ang may ganang magalit sa atin! Kesyo pinag-kakaisahan daw sila. Sinasadya daw sila. Nagpa-pasaway lang daw ang Pilipinas!

Anaknghinayupaknabullynasingkitnamanoo!!!

Pwes, mula ngayon, I swear… sa abot ng aking makakaya… ibo-BOYCOTT ko ang lahat ng produktong “Made in China!”

boycott-products-made-in-china

Mahirap itong gawin, OO alam ko. Sabi nga nila, “God made the World, but everything else is Made in China.”

Pero, I believe na if I really try, and as long as it is clear to me why I need to boycott China’s products, kaya naman siguro. After all, every little bit counts.

Kaya sinimulan ko na, in my own small way.

Usually, sandamakmak na ganitong tools ang “Made in China.” Pero nag-pursigi akong humanap ng mga alternatives.

At tagumpay naman! Heto ang mga nabili ko:

Asarol na “Made in the UK” ang ulo (at Pinoy ang kahoy na katawan), Garden Trowel na “Made in Brazil“, at Pandilig ng Halaman na “Proudly Made in the Philippines!” Woohooo!

Of Maps, Measurements and (intentional) Mistakes.

Dear China (aka “The Big Bully“),

You claim that your “9-dash line” map is historically accurate since it is based on ancient maps that you currently possess. Because of this, you maintain that your sovereignty over the Spratlys and Scarborough Shoal is undisputed.

Here’s one of your so-called “historical maps,” dated 1947, with 11 dashes, not just 9. Kaya pala pati Taiwan saklaw pa.

11-dash line map (China 1947)

But if you really put great stock on “historical maps”… the older the better, sabi nga ninyo… then what do you say about this even older map (1735) that was given by German Chancellor Angela Merkel to Chinese President Xi Jinping which shows China to NOT INCLUDE Xinjiang, Manchuria, Tibet, Mongolia, Taiwan, Hainan nor the Paracels, Spratlys and Scarborough Shoal?!

So, ano? Palumaan na lang tayo ng mapa?!

P.S. I know that you’re gonna claim to possess even older maps than the one given by Merkel. Fine… kaso may problema. Malamang yung mga mapang ‘yun ay “Made in China.” 🙂

Yet another reason why totalitarian states suck.

This is the Korean Peninsula seen from outer space (via a NASA Satellite image). Guess which part is ruled by Kim Jong-un and his cabal?

And it’s not just the obvious lack of development that’s glaring; there’s also the cyclical famine, a nationally-cultivated (nurtured, even) xenophobia and paranoia, and a general lack of freedom.

China’s not looking too hot, either 😦

To do so will be another example of a big, powerful country BULLYING a small, defenseless one.

Remember, Nazi Germany used the alleged harassment of ethnic Germans in the Sudetenland to invade and, subsequently, annex that sovereign territory of Czechoslovakia.

OO na! Sige na! Kayo na ang Api! Kayo na ang Kawawa!

Genuine Safety Issue or orchestrated China-bashing?

Alam natin na medyo negatibo na ang konotasyon ng mga katagang “Made in China”mga produktong sirain… mababa ang kalidad… cheap… peke…

But just recently, those words came to mean another thing — “Made in China” products, it seems, can now potentially kill you, your child, and even your pet. Needless to say, the economic backlash against China was immediate.

Magpatuloy magbasa “Genuine Safety Issue or orchestrated China-bashing?”
