Rest in Peace, Carmelino… batchmate, barkada, kumpare, friend.

Carmelino Pansacola, Jr. (in his signature checkered polo) was only 40 years old when he passed away last 23rd of August 2010. His death, brought about by complications from a stroke he suffered 2 weeks prior, was both sad, shocking and frustrating.

Sad, because he’s leaving 3 kids, his wife, parents, 2 brothers and all his friends behind.

Shocking, because I never thought of him as living a particularly unhealthy lifestyle.

Frustrating, because we never got to spend more time together these past few years.

He still had lots of plans. Carme, like many men his age, was too young to die.

Paalam, pare. You will be deeply missed. 😦

This poem (by an anonymous author) is for you:

Poem of Life

Life is but a stopping place,
A pause in what’s to be,
A resting place along the road,
to sweet eternity.

We all have different journeys,
Different paths along the way,
We all were meant to learn some things,
but never meant to stay…

Our destination is a place,
Far greater than we know.
For some the journey’s quicker,
For some the journey’s slow.

And when the journey finally ends,
We’ll claim a great reward
And find an everlasting peace,
Together with the lord.

Rest in Peace, Carmelino… batchmate, barkada, kumpare, friend.
