“You are what you watch talaga!”

Narinig ko lang ‘tong linyang ito sa dalawang nag-uusap na babae sa isang mall sa Fairview. Apparently, they were discussing the merits and demerits of watching one movie over another, with one girl trying to convince the other that her choice was “sosyal” while the other’s was “jologs.”

Not surprisingly, they were choosing between 1 American film and 1 Pinoy film.Β Hulaan niyo nga kung alin sa dalawang pelikulang pinag-pipilian ang nabansagang “sosyal” at alin ang “jologs” πŸ™‚

Magsa-suggest sana ako ng alternative movie pero hindi ko na itinuloy. Una, dahil hindi ko naman sila kilala… at pangalawa, malamang bansagang “sexist” yung napipisil kong palabas. Hehehehe…

But eniweys, napa-isip din ako later… talaga nga bang “we are what we watch“? Parang yung kasabihang “You are what you eat,” at “Show me who your friends are and I’ll show you who you are,” or something like that?

  1. Di ko na alam kung anu ang TV. Sigh. Hehe. Pero pag may pagkakataon, CNN at ANC!

You are what you watch? Siguro nga. Since you gravitate towards what you like. Pero sometimes, some shows only amuse you. They are not in that category where they are part of your routine but they offer something ‘new’ and so, you watch them even if you flinch at the weirdness I guess. . .

Tru dat, kapatid na zezil! Some shows are for information, some are for entertainment, some for unwinding, some for family-bonding, and some you turn on just to have that familiar, reassuring, “noise” playing in the background. πŸ™‚

  2. ako naman mas gusto ko yung CI, Border Force, Border Security-UK/Australia/NZ, Bones, Glades, Underbelly, National Geographic yung tipong may police involved, solving a crime, or something like that. Otherwise, I also like Better Homes and Gardens, Location Location Location, Love the House You Live In, Selling Houses Australia/UK and etc. CNN for world news, and local news daily.

    So ano daw ako :))
