Believe it or not, sa ilang-dekadang pag-iinom ko, now ko pa lang natikman itong “Blue Label” na tinatawag. Akalain mo, naturingan na “40-something” na tomador tapos hindi pa natitikman ang Blue Label!
Kaya naman kakaibang excitement ang naramdaman ko nang makitang may inilatag na kakaibang karton sa umpukan namin kagabi. When it was confirmed na Blue Label nga ang laman nung kahon, I was literally salivating as I imagined the exquisite taste that has to come with every sip of this very expensive premium whisky!
I decided to drink it straight. No ice. No nothing to mess with the “real” taste of Blue Label.
Kaya lang… nung natikman ko na… all I could think of was “ay, matapang pala siya.”
The experience was very underwhelming to say the least.
Pero parang kasalanan ko rin eh. Sobra kong inanticipate yung masarap na lasa ng Blue Label that when the actual tasting happened, I had too high expectations pala.
Sorry, Blue Label, ‘di na po mauulit… ang pag-inom ko sayo. Masyado kang mahal for what is, to me, actually just an ordinary drink (apologies for the Blue Label fanatics out there).
