This “Sicko” made me cry…

If you’re not into documentaries and such, try to make an exception just this once. Watch “Sicko” by renowned investigative filmographer, whistle-blower, Bush-basher, and all-around nice guy, Michael Moore.

Watching this film really made me question the “humanity” of those people who place PROFITS above plain DOING WHAT IS RIGHT.

HMOs (Health Maintenance Organizations, aka private health-care providers) that are intentionally denying health-care services to the poor just because they can’t pay for it are doing worse than merely lying… they’re committing premeditated MURDER!

Pero ang mas nakakapag-ngitngit pa e yung kakapalan ng mukha nung mga CEOs ng HMOs na ito, ng kanilang mga lobbyists at ng mga bayarang pulitiko na sabihing there’s nothing wrong with the system daw — that, in fact, it’s way better than “socialized” health-care systems as are currently being implemented in Canada, the UK, France, Cuba and Sweden, among others.

Haays…

And while your’re at it, watch Michael Moore’s two other film-exposes na rin! His very first on the “Gun Mentality” of White America (or sa Tagalog, bakit andaming Puting Kano na utak pulbura?)

And his second on the various conspiracies behind the September 11 Terrorist Attacks (or sa Tagalog, kaya pala hindi pa din mahuli-huli si Bin Laden hanggang ngayon!)

Nakow!

syempre in english yun, pero very memorable ang sagot niya:

“if you have a problem with your country, the easiest way is to leave. my job is to tell the government that there is a problem. i’d stay and make some noise. for me, that’s the american way.”

    idooollll!!!

Taroogs – korek, kapatid! idol talaga… at heto pa isa, yung British counterpart niya — si Greg Palast. hataw din — http://www.gregpalast.com/

Bok, medyo hawig mo sya.

Taroogs – ayus ah… teynks, chadagirl, for the link πŸ™‚ and speaking of “slacker”, katuwa nitong definition na nakita ko sa Urban Dictionary site — “slackitude — The act of, or state of being a slacker. Describes the attitude typically associated with being a slacker. Most appropriately applies to one with no responsibilities, one that gets by pretending to be hard at work, or the co-worker that is found hanging out near the coffee machine for most of the day.

I just can’t tolerate that guy’s slackitude! If I were his manager, I’d sack him, no doubt.

  6. Violent D ay nagsasabing:

Meron pang isa, “The Fever” starring Vanessa Redgrave, Angelina Jolie and Michael Moore. A story of a rich urban woman’s journey to radical enlightenment. From rabid consumerism and indifference to radicalism. “Enlightenment is brutal.”

Taroogs – uy! maganda yan πŸ™‚ dapat ginagawang regular ed-session openers ang mga ganitong klaseng documentary/films
